The characters of Destiny are what destroy this series more than anything, almost every single new character to destiny are constantly complaining, crying, or doing some other insignificant thing that contribute absolutely nothing to the overall story. They are an abomination to the gundam franchise. One of the many things that i liked about seed was the emotion that the characters had, you genuinely felt sorry for some of the characters, however the new characters emotions in destiny feel hollow, and you cant help but just not care about their problems, which only makes them more annoying. Overall the characters are the worst thing about this series, the characters that are from seed are still good (most of them, the ones that were annoying in seed are still annoying) and help to even it out a little bit while watching the series, but do not begin to right the wrong that the new characters have done to the series. I'm not going to say that you should, or should not, watch this series, because most people who watch gundam watch it to see every series, so at some point or another they will watch this one, but if you're just a casual watcher and aren't too concerned with the gundam franchise itself and are just interested in a single timeline, this series would be acceptable to skip, watch Seed, and be done, it doesn't end in a cliffhanger, and can stand alone on its own, so take it or leave it.
